SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated project SSMB29, reportedly titled Globetrotter, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, continues to build excitement among fans. The film also features Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role and has completed three major shooting schedules across Hyderabad and Odisha earlier this year. Now, the crew is preparing to shoot a high-octane action sequence in East Africa, adding an exotic dimension to this ambitious venture.

Originally set to start shooting in Kenya in July, the East African shooting schedule was delayed because of political instability. Producer KL Narayana assured that the shooting will start in the third week of September, with the crew ready to take breathtaking shots in Nairobi, Kenya, and Tanzania’s beautiful landscapes. While it remains unclear if Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra will join the shoot, the African backdrop promises to enhance the film’s grandeur, a hallmark of Rajamouli’s cinematic style.

On Mahesh Babu’s birthday, Rajamouli took fans by surprise by revealing that the first look of SSMB29 will be out in November 2025. He called the movie a huge and immersive one and added, “mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice.” He assured a “never-before-seen” reveal, as he would introduce the essence and depth of the world of the film.

A recent article from Tanzania’s The Citizen provided a glimpse into the plot: the tale is about a “rugged explorer” on a dangerous quest to rescue the world from an evil antagonist. Drawing inspiration from Indiana Jones and African adventure stories, the movie guarantees exciting travels across unmapped landscapes, secret historical artifacts, and explosive fights.

With the music of MM Keeravani and a whopping budget of approximately Rs 1,000 crore, SSMB29 will be released globally in 2027 and emerge as one of the costliest movies in the history of Indian cinema.
