K-POP MEETS BASEBALL! BTS’ V to throw first pitch at Los Angeles Dodgers game

BTS’s V is making waves beyond music with a special appearance at a major sports event in the United States.

BTS’s V is making waves beyond music with a special appearance at a major sports event in the United States. Currently in the US with BTS to work on their highly anticipated comeback album, V will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on August 25, during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ game against the Cincinnati Reds. The Dodgers confirmed the exciting news alongside a photo of the K-pop star, instantly delighting BTS fans, known as ARMYs, who rarely get to see their idol on such a grand American stage.

This isn’t the group’s first connection to Dodger Stadium. In 2019, BTS member Suga visited to support his favourite pitcher, Ryu Hyun-jin. V’s upcoming appearance follows South Korean football star Son Heung-min’s recent ceremonial pitch at the same venue, adding to the wave of Korean stars being honoured.

The announcement even caught the attention of Dodgers pitcher Blake Ashton Snell, who commented on the team’s social media post. The news sparked a surge in ticket sales for the Dodgers vs. Reds game, causing heavy traffic and temporary crashes on ticketing websites.

All seven BTS members—J-Hope, Jin, Jimin, RM, V, Suga, and Jungkook—have recently completed their mandatory military service and reunited in the US to create their comeback album, set for release in 2026. Following the album launch, BTS will embark on their first global tour since 2022, after releasing their anthology Proof and performing the special Yet to Come concert in Busan.

Recently, BTS surprised fans with a brief, joyous 7-minute Weverse live from the beach, confirming that the group is officially back together and hard at work on new music.
