BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, recently surprised fans by choosing “Save Me” as his all-time favorite BTS song — even over his own solo tracks. The 2016 hit won the impromptu BTS Song World Cup V conducted during a late-night audio-only livestream at midnight on September 12.
Inspired by a fan’s post on Weverse requesting him to play a BTS song tournament, V loved the idea and decided to take it live. Searching for the right platform, he began the game by going through dozens of BTS tracks from their 13-year career — from debut-era gems to recent chart-toppers — sharing nostalgic reactions and complimenting fellow members’ vocals.

As he clicked through rounds of songs, V asked ARMY for suggestions but ultimately followed his instincts. He even picked BTS songs over his own fan-favorite solo “Winter Bear,” proving his deep love for the group’s collective work.
One surprising match-up came when Jungkook’s beloved solo “Euphoria” defeated “Young Forever,” a 2016 emotional fan-favorite. However, “Euphoria” was eventually knocked out in the quarter-finals by “Dimple,” another track V adores.

The final round boiled down to two powerful BTS tracks — “Save Me” (2016) and “Mikrokosmos” (2019), both cherished by fans worldwide. While “Mikrokosmos” is known for its uplifting presence at concerts, V made the unexpected choice of “Save Me” as his top pick — leaving fans both surprised and emotional.
