Actor Teja Sajja’s latest pan-India release Mirai has opened to a resounding response at the box office, collecting approximately ₹12 crore net in India on its opening day overall. Helmed by Karthik Gattamneni, the epic fantasy-action drama has appealed to both critics and audiences alike for its engrossing storyline and breathtaking visuals.
A Mythical Mix of History and Modernity
Mirai is a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience that combines Hindu mythological and ancient Indian history with a modern superhero tale. With its gripping narrative and acrobatic action sequences, the movie has established itself as a full-fledged cinematic experience. It is made by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad in a budget of ₹50 crore. The movie also has the support of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions as the official distribution partner.
Strong Performances and Visual Grandeur
The movie features a good cast of actors including Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, Shriya Saran, and Jagapathi Babu. All the actors have received widespread acclaim for their performances, with special admiration for Sajja’s powerful screen presence and Manoj’s significant comeback to the big screen.

Box Office Success: Improved Compared To HanuMan
When compared to Teja Sajja’s previous release HanuMan (2024), which raked in about ₹8 crore on opening day, Mirai has seen a lot of improvement. As per a report by Sacnilk, the film had a massive ₹12 crore net on Day 1.
In occupancy terms, Mirai registered a healthy 68.59% in the Telugu version on Friday. Night shows reached a peak of 83.81% occupancy, and morning shows saw the lowest at 56.20%. Geographically, Hyderabad dominated with 404 shows and an 85.5% occupancy percentage, and Bengaluru followed with 346 shows at 43.75% occupancy.
Pan-India Appeal and Future Prospects
The multi-language release of the film has also witnessed fair occupancy in Tamil (19.50%), Malayalam (16.69%), Hindi (10.86%), and Kannada (5.86%). With good word of mouth and great critical response, Mirai is anticipated to see even higher figures over the weekend.
