“Common Man Will Think…” Janhvi Kapoor’s Powerful Statement on AI-Generated Images Will Leave You Speechless!

Janhvi Kapoor Slams Deepfake Images: "Common Man Will Think It's Real" - The Dark Side of AI Revealed!

As artificial intelligence increasingly merges into online platforms, fears over its abuse are growing, especially among the celebrities. During the launch of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’s trailer, stars Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan spoke openly about the ethical problems AI presents to creativity, consent, and identity in film.

Janhvi Kapoor speaks on the Peril of AI Imagery

Janhvi Kapoor, the actress who will play Tulsi in Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming rom-com, narrated an unsettling firsthand experience with AI-generated content. “I see on social media, there are many such AI pictures being circulated against my wishes,” she said. “You and I know it’s an AI picture, but the common man will believe, ‘Yeh toh yeh pehen ke pohonch gayi (She actually wore this).'”

Characterizing herself as “old-school,” Janhvi emphasized the value of authenticity in storytelling and cautioned against AI interference in creative works and individual privacy. She appealed for increased awareness and responsibility regarding AI-generated content, particularly where it violates personal image rights.

Varun Dhawan Calls for Regulation

Backing Janhvi’s sentiments, Varun Dhawan echoed the need for clear guidelines around AI use. “Technology is helpful, but it has its demerits. Laws and regulations are needed to protect actors and their identity from being misused,” he said.

Dhawan also highlighted the unreplaceable worth of human imagination in filmmaking. “An algorithm cannot mimic an actor’s X-factor,” he further added, reminding creators and viewers alike that the essence of cinema is human emotion, not calculation.

The conversation comes amid rising debate in Indian cinema over AI’s use. A recent controversy involved Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa, which was re-released in Tamil with an AI-altered ending—raising ethical questions around creative control and consent.
