Miley Cyrus has fans buzzing with excitement as she unveils her latest musical project, Dream As One, created in collaboration with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. The pop superstar announced the track on October 22, sharing a snippet on social media and revealing that it will be featured in James Cameron’s upcoming film Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The song holds personal significance for Miley, as it draws inspiration from the devastating house fire that impacted her life in 2018. “Honoured to support Avatar: Fire and Ash with an original song I’ve written with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me,” she wrote. Miley added, “Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that experience into musical medicine. The film’s themes of unity, healing, and love resonate deeply within my soul, and to be even a small star in the universe the Avatar family has created is truly a dream come true.”
Dream As One is set to appear during the film’s end credits and marks Miley’s first release since her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, earlier this year. With this release, she joins other music artists who have contributed to the Avatarfranchise, including Leona Lewis, who recorded the theme for the original 2009 film, and The Weeknd, who released Nothing is Lost for Avatar: The Way of Water in 2022.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third installment in the Avatar series and a direct sequel to 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water. Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 19, promising to continue the saga of Pandora while delivering a soundtrack highlighted by Miley’s emotive new song.
