Shraddha Kapoor’s Dazzling Performance! Biopic on Vithabai Narayangaonkar to Showcase Her Versatility

Get Ready to Be Mesmerized! Shraddha Kapoor's Biopic on Vithabai Narayangaonkar to Hit Theaters Soon!

Shraddha Kapoor has reportedly begun shooting Eetha, a biopic based on the remarkable life of Maharashtra’s legendary Tamasha performer, Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The film is being helmed by Laxman Utekar, with whom Shraddha is collaborating for the first time, and is being produced under Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Having told sensitive stories in films such as Luka Chuppi and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, the combination of Utekar and Shraddha has already generated a much-awaited excitement among both the audience and the industry fraternity.

News of Eetha spread like wildfire when a picture of the film’s clapboard went viral on social media, sending the fans into a tizzy. Though there has been no official announcement about the music of the film, it is learnt that noted music composers Ajay-Atul will be at the helm of its soundtrack. Their involvement adds to the film’s authenticity and grandeur, since the brothers have been closely associated with the Marathi culture and folk music traditions.

Vithabai Narayangaonkar is considered one of Maharashtra’s most iconic cultural personas, an exemplary exponent of Tamasha, a vibrant and ebullient folk art form that is an amalgamation of music, dance, and theater. Despite suffering a string of personal setbacks, Vithabai’s love for her work never dissipated, making her the true embodiment of artistic resilience. In Eetha, Shraddha Kapoor will essay the elegance, grit, and determination of the late singer-dancer with pizzazz, a role potentially considered one of the most difficult and emotionally draining performances of her life.

For Shraddha, last seen in Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), the film represents a bold shift from her recent work in commercial cinema. Of late, the actress has picked scripts that offer her scope to portray multidimensional, layered characters, and Eetha seems all set to present her in a strong, performance-driven avatar.

Thank you for giving us that moment.” The influence of Shraddha does not stop at the border of the country. Recently, a viral video from the U.S. showed a woman dressed as her Stree character for Halloween – proof of how lasting the cultural impact of her performances can be. With Eetha, Shraddha Kapoor looks ready to write another memorable chapter in her cinematic journey.
