Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra is currently under medical observation at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after he reportedly complained of breathlessness on November 1. The 88-year-old actor, widely adored for his timeless performances, is said to be stable and recovering. On Tuesday, his wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol were spotted arriving at the hospital to check on him, even as they publicly condemned false reports about his death circulating online.
A video shared by paparazzo Pallav Paliwal showed Dharmendra’s nephew Abhay Deol visiting his cousin Bobby Deol’s residence in Mumbai the same morning. In the footage, Abhay was seen stepping out of his car and heading quickly inside, sparking speculation about family members gathering amid concerns over the veteran star’s health. Meanwhile, paparazzi captured Hema Malini and Esha Deol arriving together at Breach Candy Hospital to be by Dharmendra’s side.
Earlier in the day, Hema Malini took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to address the widespread rumours. Expressing her frustration, she criticized certain media outlets for spreading misinformation about her husband’s health. “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy,” she wrote, urging the media to show restraint and sensitivity.
Esha Deol also issued a heartfelt statement on Instagram, assuring fans that her father is doing better. “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery,” she wrote. Her post received an outpouring of support from fans and industry colleagues, who flooded the comments section with wishes for Dharmendra’s good health.
As Dharmendra continues to remain under observation, fans have been offering prayers and messages of strength for the Deol family. Several Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, Ameesha Patel, and others, reportedly visited the actor at Breach Candy Hospital on Tuesday night to check on his condition.
