The actress, who recently joined the highly anticipated spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit rom-com Cocktail, was seen in a chic, modern avatar that instantly captivated fans. Director Homi Adajania shared the viral BTS picture on his Instagram stories, showing Rashmika looking effortlessly stylish, further fueling excitement around her role in the film.
Adajania has been consistently treating fans to glimpses from the sets, featuring the film’s lead stars—Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika. The team recently wrapped up their shooting schedule in Europe. The next phase was originally planned for New Delhi, but unforeseen circumstances forced a delay. In another BTS moment shared by the director, Shahid Kapoor was seen undergoing intense training as part of a major physical transformation for his character.
The cast and crew, who were spotted at the airport upon returning from Delhi, were all set to begin shooting in the capital on November 12. However, the plan hit a major roadblock due to two pressing issues—dangerously high air pollution levels and a recent blast near the Red Fort, which escalated security concerns. The team had intended to shoot for seven days across South Delhi, Central Delhi, Old Delhi, and the university belt.
A source told Hindustan Times, “Shahid along with Kriti and Rashmika were supposed to come to shoot in Delhi from November 12. The makers had planned a detailed schedule in Delhi for seven days.” The insider further explained that the toxic air quality was a key reason for postponement. “The heightened tension after the Delhi blast also led to the decision. There are multiple reasons behind the delay. The schedule is not cancelled but only pushed. The makers are now planning to shoot in December, if all goes well.” The team will reassess the situation at the end of the month before locking new dates.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan, Cocktail 2 is being directed by Homi Adajania, who also helmed the original film starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. While plot details remain tightly guarded, the makers are eyeing a theatrical release in the second half of 2026. The original film explored a modern love triangle, blending romance, heartbreak, and friendship—elements fans hope to see reinvented in the upcoming sequel.
