Kim Kardashian is once again speaking out in defence of her daughter North West, this time addressing criticism surrounding North’s bold fashion choices and appearance. The reality star and entrepreneur made it clear that while she allows her daughter to express herself freely, structure, rules, and education remain a top priority in their household.
Kim revealed that North has always gravitated toward self expression from a very young age. “I have pictures of her in pre K where she’d have a fake septum ring and green and pink braids,” she shared, explaining that this creativity is nothing new. According to Kim, allowing North to explore her individuality has always been part of her parenting approach, even as public opinion grows louder.
She was quick to clarify that freedom does not mean a lack of boundaries. Kim stressed that North does have rules and guidance in place, but she has never stopped her from expressing herself in ways that feel authentic to her. “It’s not like she doesn’t have rules,” Kim explained, pushing back against assumptions that her parenting style is overly permissive.
Kim also highlighted that North’s interest in fashion goes beyond aesthetics or trends. She shared that her daughter attends fashion camps and takes fashion courses, treating it as a genuine passion rather than a phase. For Kim, encouraging this interest is about nurturing creativity while still ensuring that school and learning come first.
Addressing the backlash around North’s piercings, Kim clarified that they are not real, but even if people disapprove, she is comfortable with her choices as a parent. “Even though people don’t like her piercings and all, which are fake, by the way, it’s still okay with me,” she said, adding that what matters most is that North feels confident and true to herself.
