Veteran Bollywood actor Zeenat Aman recently shared an interesting memory from her classic film Don, leaving fans feeling nostalgic. Known for being active on social media, Zeenat often shares behind the scenes stories from her films, and this time she spoke about a famous scene that was much harder to shoot than it looked.
In her post, she talked about playing Roma, a smart and brave character who is still remembered by fans. She shared a clip from the film where her character helps an unconscious Don, played by Amitabh Bachchan, escape from a hospital while the police are searching for him. The scene looks smooth and intense on screen, but Zeenat revealed that shooting it was quite challenging in real life.
She explained that she was otherwise very comfortable during the filming of Don because she had already worked with many of the cast and crew before. She also said she really enjoyed playing Roma because the character was confident, clever, and bold. However, this particular scene tested her physically.
Zeenat shared that pushing the wheelchair in which Amitabh Bachchan was lying unconscious was extremely difficult. The wheelchair was old and heavy, and with his full weight on it, moving it around was not easy at all. Even though she had to look calm and in control for the scene, in reality she was using all her strength to push it. She said she had to maintain a straight face while struggling behind the scenes.
Her post quickly caught attention, and fans started sharing their love for the film. Many people said that the original Don can never be replaced. Some praised her performance as Roma, while others remembered watching the film during their younger days. Fans also spoke about her chemistry with Amitabh Bachchan and called it one of the best pairings in Bollywood.
Don, released in 1978, was directed by Chandra Barot and written by the famous duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. The film was a big success and later became a popular franchise. Years later, Farhan Akhtar made a modern version starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, which was also well received.
Zeenat ended her post by saying she would love to see another remake of Don, showing that even today, the film continues to hold a special place in her heart and among audiences.
