The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is performing strongly at the box office. The animated action adventure film, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, earned USD 8.7 million on its second Wednesday. When compared to other video game based films, it performed better than A Minecraft Movie, which had earned USD 5.5 million on its second Wednesday. Among April releases, the film recorded one of the highest second Wednesday collections.
It crossed the numbers of Avengers Endgame with USD 8.4 million, Avengers Infinity War with USD 7.1 million, and Sinners with USD 6.1 million. However, it stayed behind The Super Mario Bros Movie, which had earned USD 10.8 million.
In the first 8 days, the film collected USD 231.1 million at the US box office. With this, it has become the highest grossing Hollywood film of 2026 in the United States, going ahead of Project Hail Mary, which is still running in theatres.
At the global level, the film has collected USD 413 million so far. Out of this, USD 181.8 million has come from international markets, showing strong performance outside the US as well.
