The trailer of Street Fighter has been released, giving audiences a first look at the upcoming action film. The movie is produced by Paramount Pictures along with Legendary Entertainment and is based on the popular video game series by Capcom. It features a large international cast including Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, and Andrew Koji.
For Indian viewers, one of the key highlights is the casting of Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, a well known character from the original game series. His role as the yoga master has drawn attention, especially among fans familiar with the franchise.
The story is set in 1993 and follows two fighters, Ryu and Ken Masters. Ryu, played by Andrew Koji, and Ken, played by Noah Centineo, are brought back into action when Chun Li, played by Callina Liang, recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. The tournament is shown as a high risk competition, where fighters must face not only each other but also deeper personal conflicts. The trailer also hints at a larger conspiracy behind the tournament, which adds tension to the storyline.
The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and aims to bring elements from the original arcade game to cinema, including signature moves and familiar characters. Along with the lead cast, the film also features several other actors in key roles. These include Joe Anoai as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, Curtis Jackson as Balrog, and Jason Momoa as Blanka.
The film is scheduled to release in India on 16 October, 2026.
