International pop star Rihanna recently visited Mumbai for a business event, but it was her interaction with Indian culture that caught the most attention online. During her visit for the launch of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna was seen trying a few steps from Bharatanatyam in a casual and fun moment. A video of this interaction was shared by influencer Nejm and quickly spread across social media platforms.
In the video, Nejm shows Rihanna some hand gestures called mudras and also explains how facial expressions, especially eye movements, play an important role in Bharatanatyam. Rihanna appears interested and follows along carefully. She tries to copy the hand movements and expressions, showing curiosity and enjoyment during the short lesson.
Soon after the video was posted, many users shared their reactions in the comments section. One fan wrote, Love “you for doing this Tamil Culture,” while another said, “Hahahaha iconiccc.” A third user commented, “We got riri doing bharatnatyam before gta 6″

Another video that gained attention showed Rihanna thanking people gathered outside by saying “shukriya”. This simple gesture was appreciated by many fans.
This was not her first visit to Mumbai. She had earlier come to the city in 2024 to attend the wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty on September 8, 2017, in partnership with LVMH. The brand became popular for offering a wide range of foundation shades designed for different skin tones.
