“I’ve Never Read a Script” Says Salman Khan and Fans Can’t Believe It

Salman Khan reveals he has never read a script in his career and opens up about luxury watches and upcoming films.

Salman Khan has delivered many blockbuster films over the years and remains one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars. But recently, the actor surprised everyone with an unexpected confession about how he chooses his films. During a candid conversation with Variety India, Salman revealed that he has never actually read a full script in his entire acting career.

The promo of the interview was released on Friday and quickly went viral on social media. In the video, Salman openly admitted, “I’ve never read a script in my entire life. I’ve written them, but I’ve never read them.” His statement left many fans shocked because actors are usually known for carefully reading scripts before agreeing to a project.

This is not the first time Salman has spoken about his unique way of selecting films. In earlier interviews too, he had hinted that he focuses more on the overall feel of the film, the treatment, the emotions and whether it has strong entertainment value for the audience. Instead of sitting and reading a complete script, he prefers understanding the basic idea and commercial appeal of the project.

The interview also touched upon another topic that often grabs attention online, Salman’s expensive luxury watches. Over the years, the actor has been seen wearing several high end watches at public events and promotions. Many reports claim that some of these watches are worth more than ₹1 crore. Reacting to the buzz, Salman jokingly said in Hindi that just because he wears the watches does not mean they belong to him. He added that many of them actually belong to his friends.

On the work front, Salman is preparing for his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, which is currently going through major changes. Earlier, the film was reportedly titled Battle of Galwan and was said to be inspired by the real life clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Galwan Valley. However, the makers have now changed the title and removed references to China and the Galwan conflict. Reports also suggest that the film is undergoing large scale reshoots.

Produced by Salman Khan Films and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film stars Salman as an Indian Army Colonel. Chitrangda Singh also plays an important role in the movie. The release date has not been announced yet.

Apart from this, Salman has also locked Eid 2027 for another big film with Nayanthara. The project, currently called SVC63, will be directed by Vamshi Paidipally.

Salman was last seen in a cameo appearance as Jiva Mahala in Raja Shivaji. Fans on social media loved his fierce warrior look in the film, which also starred Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh.
