Rumours linking actress Sreeleela with Indian cricketer Tilak Varma have now been completely dismissed by both the actress’s family and her team. After several days of gossip and speculation on social media, Sreeleela’s mother, Dr Swarnalatha, stepped forward and made it clear that there is no truth behind the reports. She explained that her daughter is currently fully focused on her acting projects and preparing for her upcoming NEET PG examination scheduled for June.
The rumours started after a fun moment involving Tilak Varma and cricketer Suryakumar Yadav became viral online. In the video, Suryakumar jokingly teased Tilak and said that he was in love. Soon after the clip spread across social media platforms, many users began connecting Tilak’s name with Sreeleela. Several online posts even claimed that the actress and the cricketer had secretly been dating for almost a year. However, there was never any official confirmation from either side.
Speaking to the media, Dr Swarnalatha strongly denied all such rumours. She said that the stories were completely imaginary and that the family was surprised by how quickly false claims spread online. According to her, there is “not even an iota of truth” in the reports suggesting that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma are in a relationship. She also shared that Sreeleela is balancing her education and film career successfully and does not have time to focus on personal matters right now.
Before her mother’s clarification, Sreeleela’s team had also released an official statement rejecting the rumours. The statement said that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma do not even know each other personally. It added that the two have never met or spoken to one another and requested people not to spread fabricated stories without facts.
The speculation became even stronger after social media users claimed that Dr Swarnalatha was seen attending an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. Some users also alleged that a member of Sreeleela’s team attended the match wearing a jersey with Tilak Varma’s name on it. There were even rumours that the actress and cricketer had followed each other on social media before later unfollowing one another. None of these claims have been officially confirmed.
On the work front, Sreeleela remains busy with multiple projects. She is preparing for her Bollywood debut in filmmaker Anurag Basu’s upcoming film opposite Kartik Aaryan. She also has a Tamil film lined up with actor Dhanush.
