Bella Hadid attracted major attention during her latest appearance at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. The supermodel attended a high profile film premiere wearing a custom made Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown that quickly became one of the most discussed fashion moments of the festival.
The look was styled by fashion stylist Mimi Cuttrell and designed by creative director Daniel Roseberry. Bella wore an ivory coloured gown made with detailed crochet effect lace featuring circular patterns. The fabric of the dress was transparent, creating the illusion of a sheer outfit, while a nude bodysuit underneath gave the dress its fitted structure.
One of the main highlights of the outfit was its deep plunging neckline that extended below the midsection. At the centre of the gown was a large black floral jewellery piece with hanging bead details. The back of the dress featured a corset inspired lace up pattern running down the spine, finished with a black velvet bow at the top.
The gown also included a long mermaid style train with layered ruffles flowing across the red carpet. The outfit was designed as a tribute to late fashion icon Jane Birkin and referenced the plunging dress she wore at the Union of the Artists Gala in Paris in 1969.
While Jane Birkin’s original look was known for its relaxed Parisian style, Bella Hadid’s version gave the concept a more modern and structured appearance. The overall design combined vintage inspiration with contemporary fashion details.
According to reports, the gown required around 22,160 hours of embroidery work and involved nearly 130 artisans working on the design. Bella completed the look with a slicked back bun hairstyle, glowing makeup, and diamond earrings.
Her Cannes appearance quickly became one of the most shared fashion moments online, with many fashion followers discussing both the craftsmanship of the outfit and its connection to fashion history.
