Hailee Steinfeld has revealed the name of her newborn daughter and shared a heartfelt letter dedicated to her baby girl. The 29 year old actress and singer, known for her role in Sinners, and her husband, 30 year old Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, welcomed their first child earlier this year. The couple had announced the birth of their daughter in early April.
In the latest edition of her Beau Society newsletter, released on June 19, Hailee shared that they have named their daughter Harper Haize Allen. Along with the announcement, she included a personal letter reflecting on her experience as a new mother and the emotions that have come with welcoming her daughter into the world.
In the letter, Hailee described the joy, wonder, and challenges of motherhood. She spoke about how quickly time has passed since Harper’s birth and how becoming a mother has changed her perspective on life.
She wrote:
“Dearest Harper,
I’m in awe of you.
You’ve been here for only a short while now, and somehow it feels as though you’ve always been ours. There are moments (like right now, as you sleep so soundly on my chest), I still look at you and wonder how you’re real.”
Hailee also reflected on the everyday moments of caring for a newborn, from missed naps and diaper changes to watching her daughter sleep peacefully. She shared how she and Josh often look at Harper and ask each other how they became so fortunate to have her in their lives.
The actress expressed both excitement and nostalgia as she watches her daughter grow. She said she already misses some of the earliest moments of Harper’s life while also looking forward to seeing the person she will become in the future.
Discussing motherhood, Hailee explained that she has discovered it is not only about raising a child but also about growing and changing as a person. She described becoming softer, stronger, more patient, and more present through her experiences as a mother.
Near the end of the letter, she addressed her daughter directly, writing:
“And even though I know I am meant to guide you through this life, Harper Haize Allen, the truth is that already, you have taught me far more than I could ever teach you.”
Hailee concluded the message by telling Harper that one day she would read the letter and understand how deeply loved she is.
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen began dating in May 2023 and married on May 31, 2025. The couple announced they were expecting their first child in October 2025.
