Cocktail 2 Crosses Rs. 55 Crore Mark In Just 5 Days

Cocktail 2 collected Rs. 5.50 crore on Day 5, taking its total to Rs. 55 crore. The Shahid Kapoor starrer is aiming for a strong first week.

Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania and starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, continued its run at the box office with a slight increase in collections on its first Tuesday. The romantic comedy drama earned Rs. 5.50 crore on Day 5, showing a growth of around 5 per cent compared to the previous day.

With this latest addition, the film’s total box office collection has reached Rs. 55 crore in 5 days. The movie has maintained a steady performance since its release and is expected to end its first week with collections in the range of Rs. 62 crore to Rs. 65 crore nett.

According to trade estimates, the current figures appear positive on the surface. However, industry observers have pointed out that the film has benefited from certain external factors that supported its theatrical performance. Without that support, the overall collections may have been lower. Even so, when compared with the performance of several recently released romantic comedy films, Cocktail 2 has managed to post respectable numbers during its opening week.

The film’s day wise box office collections are as follows:

Day 1: Rs. 12.50 crore

Day 2: Rs. 15.50 crore

Day 3: Rs. 16.25 crore

Day 4: Rs. 5.25 crore

Day 5: Rs. 5.50 crore

Total: Rs. 55.00 crore

While the movie has performed steadily so far, its pace could face a challenge next weekend with the arrival of Welcome To The Jungle in cinemas. The new release is expected to attract a significant share of the audience, which could impact Cocktail 2’s box office momentum.

The film is also drawing comparisons with the original Cocktail, which was released in 2012. The first movie opened with Rs. 10.50 crore nett and eventually completed its theatrical run with a total collection of Rs. 74.50 crore nett. If adjusted for inflation, its opening day figures would be considerably higher in today’s terms.

As Cocktail 2 moves into its second week, attention will remain on whether it can continue attracting audiences and eventually match or surpass the box office performance of the original film. The coming days will provide a clearer picture of its long term theatrical prospects.
