A viral claim about Kangana Ranaut and Vir Das has once again brought their 2014 film Revolver Rani into the spotlight. Social media was recently flooded with posts claiming that Vir was injured while filming a kissing scene with Kangana. The story quickly gained attention after it was mentioned by journalist Simi Chandoke during an interview. However, Vir Das has now responded to the rumours and made it clear that the entire story is false.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Vir strongly denied the claims and said there was no truth to the reports. He described the viral story as “pure fiction” and defended Kangana, saying she behaved professionally throughout the shoot of Revolver Rani. According to Vir, there were never any problems between them while working on the film. He also said it was unfair to spread false stories that could damage Kangana’s image.
Right. Just so we are clear. This story is pure fiction. Kangana was a complete professional and I still maintain, a truly gifted artist. This is unfair slander to her. She went on to call me a terrorist a few years later for my comedy 😊 but on set…no problems at all. https://t.co/o0AjB04WnT

In his post, Vir wrote that Kangana was a complete professional and a truly gifted artist. He added that although Kangana had publicly criticised him years later and even called him a terrorist over his comedy, that had nothing to do with their experience while filming together. He made it clear that they had no issues on the sets of Revolver Rani and that the current rumours should not be believed.
Vir’s response came after a social media user asked why he had remained silent about a statement made by journalist Simi Chandoke. During an appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, Simi claimed that while filming a kissing scene for Revolver Rani, Kangana became so involved in the scene that she did not stop even after the director called cut. She alleged that Vir’s lips were injured and started bleeding because of the scene. The clip soon went viral and sparked fresh discussions online.
Interestingly, this is not the first time such rumours have surfaced. Similar claims had spread on social media in 2023. At that time, Kangana had reacted with humour on her Instagram Story. Referring to the rumours, she joked, “After Hrithik Roshan, did I violate poor Vir Das’s honour? When did this happen?” along with laughing emojis, making it clear that she did not take the claims seriously.
Revolver Rani was released in 2014 and featured Kangana Ranaut in the lead role of a powerful and fearless woman. Vir Das played Bollywood actor Rohan Mehra, who becomes the love interest of Kangana’s character. Directed by Sai Kabir Shrivastav, the film also starred Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain and Zeishan Quadri. Although the movie received attention for its unusual story, it did not perform well at the box office. Now, years later, Vir Das has finally put an end to the viral rumours by confirming that the story of him being injured during the kissing scene is simply not true.
