Nearly two decades after Awarapan became a cult favourite, Emraan Hashmi is returning as Shivam Pandit in Awarapan 2. The makers have released the official trailer, giving fans their first look at the long awaited sequel. The film also stars Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Aniruddh Rawal, and Atul Kumar in important roles. While the original film was remembered for its emotional story of love and sacrifice, the sequel takes a different path by focusing on revenge, action, and justice.
The trailer opens with an older and tougher looking Shivam Pandit, showing that the character is still carrying the pain of his past. However, this time he is no longer trying to escape his memories. Instead, he is determined to settle old scores and fight those responsible for his suffering. The trailer description sums up the story by saying, “You have felt his PAIN. Now feel his RAGE. Chapter 2 of Shivam Pandit begins,” making it clear that the sequel will present a more intense and action driven version of the character.
The 1 minute and 25 second trailer combines emotional scenes with high energy action sequences.
