Awarapan 2 Box Office: Emraan Hashmi’s Film Ends Week 1 At Rs. 111.50 Crore

Awarapan 2 earned Rs. 5.40 crore on Day 7, taking its first week total to Rs. 111.50 crore nett as Emraan Hashmi’s film continues its strong box office run.

Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has completed its first week at the Indian box office on a strong note. The romantic action drama collected Rs. 5.40 crore on Day 7, registering a 10 per cent drop from the previous day. With this collection, the film has taken its opening week total to around Rs. 111.50 crore nett.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film has managed to maintain a good hold during its first week despite receiving mixed reactions from audiences. The makers are now expecting the movie to see another increase in collections during its second weekend, especially because there is no major release competing with it.

Awarapan 2 is also expected to enjoy a relatively clear run until Toxic arrives in cinemas. This gives the Emraan Hashmi starrer more time to attract audiences and add to its box office total.

One of the biggest reasons behind the film’s performance is the popularity of the original Awarapan. Although the 2007 film was a DISASTER when it was first released, it gradually developed a strong cult following. That fanbase, along with the nostalgia connected to the original, appears to have helped the sequel connect with audiences.

Co starring Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, Awarapan 2 has already become the highest grossing film from a solo Emraan Hashmi release. If the movie continues to hold well in the coming days, it could eventually achieve a Blockbuster verdict.

Awarapan 2 is a sequel to the 2007 film, which initially failed at the box office but later became a cult favourite. Emraan Hashmi was a major name in romantic and intense films during the 2000s and early 2010s, with movies such as Murder 2, Raaz 3, Jannat 2 and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai.

The success of Awarapan 2 has created an unusual box office story. A sequel to a film that was originally a DISASTER has now become a Super HIT and could potentially reach Blockbuster status, showing the growing impact of nostalgia and cult fanbases on theatrical releases.
