Chand Mera Dil continued its run at the box office on its second Wednesday, collecting an estimated Rs. 0.80 crore. The film recorded a drop of around 15 per cent compared to its Tuesday earnings and has now taken its total domestic collection to Rs. 25.50 crore after 13 days in theatres.
Based on its current performance, the film is expected to complete its second week with collections of around Rs. 26.50 crore. While the movie has managed to remain steady during its second week, its performance in the coming days will depend heavily on how it competes with several new releases arriving in cinemas.
The romantic drama stars Lakshya and Ananya Panday in lead roles and is directed by Vivek Soni. The film will now face competition from Peddi, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, and Bandar, all of which are expected to attract audience attention this weekend. If Chand Mera Dil manages to hold its screens and maintain audience interest despite the arrival of these films, it could finish its theatrical run close to the Rs. 30 crore nett mark in India.
An important factor in the film’s box office journey has been the Buy One Get One ticket offer, which was available on most weekdays. While such promotional offers helped attract viewers, industry observers believe the film could have delivered stronger results if it had received more positive word of mouth from audiences after release.
Looking at its day by day performance, the film opened with Rs. 2.75 crore on Day 1 and showed growth over its first weekend. It earned Rs. 3.50 crore on Day 2 and Rs. 4.25 crore on Day 3. Collections then gradually slowed during the weekdays, though the film remained stable enough to continue adding to its overall total.
During its second week, the film collected Rs. 1.25 crore on Day 8, Rs. 1.65 crore on Day 9, Rs. 1.70 crore on Day 10, Rs. 0.90 crore on Day 11, Rs. 0.95 crore on Day 12, and an estimated Rs. 0.80 crore on Day 13.
With a current total of Rs. 25.50 crore, Chand Mera Dil has already achieved a respectable run. The next few days will determine whether it can continue attracting audiences and move closer to the Rs. 30 crore mark before completing its theatrical journey.
