Paramount Pictures has released a new behind the scenes featurette for Heart of the Beast, giving audiences a closer look at one of the film’s most important relationships. After the first trailer introduced the survival thriller, the latest video focuses on the bond between Brad Pitt and his canine co star, Uber, the German Shepherd who plays Odin.
In the featurette, Brad Pitt speaks about his experience of working with Uber and says it was a memorable part of making the film. The 62 year old actor describes filming with the dog as a “special experience” and even jokes that Uber is the real star of the movie. The behind the scenes footage also gives viewers a glimpse of the connection the two built while filming, which plays a major role in the story.
Heart of the Beast follows Special Forces officer James Belmont, played by Brad Pitt, and his combat dog, Odin, after they survive a devastating plane crash. Stranded in the remote wilderness of Alaska, the pair must work together to stay alive as they face dangerous weather, harsh surroundings, and constant threats. The film tells the story of survival while also exploring the strong friendship and trust between a soldier and his loyal dog during an extreme situation.
The film is directed by David Ayer and presents an action packed survival story with an emotional core. Along with Brad Pitt, the cast includes J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. The screenplay is written by Cameron Alexander.
