Newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have made a stunning entry into Bollywood with their debut film Saiyaara, which is dominating the box office. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, the romantic musical drama has surpassed ₹300 crore worldwide in just nine days, becoming one of the biggest cinematic successes of 2025.
Strong 10-Day Run, Eyeing All-Time Records
As per early estimates by trade tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara earned an impressive ₹30 crore (net) in India on its 10th day (Sunday). With no major competition in theatres and glowing word of mouth, the film’s momentum remains strong. Hindi (2D) occupancy rates on Day 10 reflected this popularity — 23.21% in morning shows, 56.38% in the afternoon, and peaking at 63.46% in the evening.
If this trend continues, Saiyaara is poised to surpass the lifetime earnings of Kabir Singh (₹377 crore), potentially becoming the highest-grossing Indian romantic film ever (non-inflation-adjusted).
OTT Deal with Netflix Postponed
The Times of India reports that Saiyaara has been picked up by Netflix for its digital release. However, due to the film’s ongoing box office success, the OTT premiere has been postponed. It is now expected to debut on Netflix around Diwali, promising a festive treat for viewers.
A Musical Romance That Struck a Chord
Released on July 18, Saiyaara tells the poignant story of Krish Kapoor, a troubled musician, and Vaani Batra, a reserved poet. Loosely inspired by the Korean film A Moment to Remember (2004), the film has been widely praised for its heartfelt performances, Mohit Suri’s direction, and a soul-stirring soundtrack. The film marks a breakout moment for both Panday and Padda.
