Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, has had a decent box office run so far but experienced a dip in its earnings on the first Monday. The film, which released on October 11 and clashed with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, earned ₹2.25 crore on day four (Monday), bringing its total earnings in India to ₹21.05 crore, according to Sacnilk.com.
The film’s day one collection was ₹5.5 crore, followed by ₹6.9 crore on day two and ₹6.4 crore on day three. While it performed well during the weekend, its overall Hindi occupancy on Monday was 10.96%, which contributed to the earnings decline. Comparatively, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has outperformed Jigra, which earned ₹18.10 crore over the same period, with a Monday collection of ₹1.50 crore.
Despite its success, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video earned less on its fourth day than Rajkummar Rao’s last film Stree 2, which raked in ₹55.9 crore on day four, and Triptii Dimri’s Bad Newz, which earned ₹3.5 crore on its fourth day.
The Raaj Shaandilyaa-directed comedy features a quirky plot where Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and Vidya (Triptii Dimri) team up with their family and the character Chanda Rani, played by Mallika Sherawat, to recover their missing “suhagraat CD.” The film takes them on an adventurous journey, from appealing to the police to exploring graveyards. It also stars a talented ensemble cast, including Vijay Raaz, Archana Puran Singh, and Tiku Talsania, and is produced by T-Series Films, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaoo Films, and Kathavachak Films.
