The Conjuring: Last Rites Reigns Supreme! Patrick Wilson-Vera Farmiga Starrer Becomes Highest Earning Hollywood Horror Film in India

Box Office Record Broken! The Conjuring: Last Rites Outperforms Final Destination Bloodlines with Rs 64.19 Crore Collection

‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has broken Indian box office records, emerging as the highest-grossing Hollywood horror film in the country’s history. The movie has been directed by Michael Chaves and features Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in lead roles. The film has performed exceedingly well despite recording a slight midweek dip in collections.

Day 6 Box Office: Slight Fall, Firm Lead

On Day 6 (Wednesday), the movie’s collections dipped, gathering Rs 3.19 crore, below its weekly average of about Rs 5 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. But still, the movie’s overall net collections in India are now Rs 64.19 crore, well ahead of ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ (Rs 62.12 crore) to claim the number one position in the space.

Wednesday’s collections were roughly balanced across English and Hindi films, contributing Rs 1.5 crore each. The Tamil and Telugu dubs added a further Rs 19 lakh.

Language-Wise Collection Breakdown

The movie has registered solid performances across different language versions:

English version: Rs 34.8 crore

Hindi dubbed: Rs 25.7 crore

Tamil dubbed: Rs 2.6 crore

Telugu dubbed: Rs 1.09 crore

This multilingual appeal has enabled Last Rites to beat Rs 74 crore in gross collections in India, a new benchmark for horror films.

Beats Franchise Predecessors

With its latest tally, The Conjuring: Last Rites has not only surpassed Final Destination: Bloodlines but also beaten earlier Conjuring Universe titles such as The Conjuring 2, Annabelle, and The Nun—firmly cementing its title as the highest-grossing horror installment within the Indian market.

Beating Bollywood Rivals

Despite tough competition from major Bollywood releases such as ‘Baaghi 4’ (Rs 2.25 crore on Day 6) and ‘The Bengal Files’ (Rs 1 crore on Day 6), Last Rites has kept up its strong performance. The gripping story, paranormal visuals, and franchise appeal have attracted huge crowds, particularly to English and Hindi shows.
