Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continued its successful run at the Indian box office by showing positive growth on its third Friday. Even after entering its third week in theatres, the epic action adventure has managed to attract audiences, especially for its English version. The latest collections indicate that the film continues to perform steadily and is now moving closer to another major box office milestone in India.
According to Sacnilk, The Odyssey collected Rs. 3.15 crore net on Day 15, registering a 14.5 per cent increase over Day 14, when it earned Rs. 2.75 crore net. The film was screened across 1,240 shows on Friday and recorded an overall occupancy of 46.2 per cent, reflecting a healthy response from moviegoers.
With this performance, the film’s total India net collection has reached Rs. 138.40 crore, while its India gross collection now stands at Rs. 165.16 crore. During its theatrical run, the film earned Rs. 90.30 crore in the first week, followed by Rs. 44.95 crore in the second week. The steady collections in the third week show that the film has maintained audience interest even after its strong opening.
The English version continued to be the biggest contributor to the film’s earnings. It collected Rs. 3 crore net from 981 shows while recording an impressive 53 per cent occupancy. The Hindi version added Rs. 12 lakh from 204 shows, while the Tamil version earned Rs. 2 lakh across 33 shows. The Telugu version contributed Rs. 1 lakh from 22 shows.
Occupancy figures also remained encouraging across several major cities. The English 2D version recorded an overall occupancy of 33.04 per cent on Day 15. The response improved as the day progressed, increasing from 11.22 per cent during the morning shows to 50.44 per cent during the night shows.
Among the major markets, Chennai recorded the highest occupancy at 69.3 per cent, followed by Kochi with 48.3 per cent and Bengaluru with 41.5 per cent. Hyderabad registered 28.3 per cent, Pune 28 per cent, Kolkata 23.5 per cent, while both Mumbai and the National Capital Region recorded 20.5 per cent. Ahmedabad reported the lowest occupancy among the major centres at 17.5 per cent.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is based on Homer’s famous Greek epic poem. The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and follows the legendary king’s difficult journey back home after the Trojan War. The cast also includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway in important roles. With its grand visuals, large scale storytelling, and immersive IMAX presentation, the film continues to draw audiences and remains one of the strongest performing Hollywood releases in India this year.
