Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Breaks Records! Day 1 Advance Booking Update

Tom Cruise is set to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the eighth and last film in the legendary action series. Helmed by Christopher McQuarrie, the highly awaited film will hit Indian theaters on May 17, 2025, and its pre-book numbers suggest a record-breaking opening.

Through 12 noon on May 12, the movie has already clocked more than 20,000 ticket sales across leading multiplex chains in India, with IMAX representing the lion’s share of sales. Industry experts are predicting the figure to shoot up substantially, with initial estimates putting pre-sales at over 150,000 tickets for Day 1 alone  a marked increase from the 125,000 ticket pre-sale figure for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning in 2023.

With the franchise having increased its Indian fanbase and the fact that this is its last installment, The Final Reckoning stands to open around Rs 20 crore nett on its opening day a huge jump from the Rs 12.25 crore opening of the previous installment. The Saturday release is also tactical, likely to bring in greater footfalls during the weekend.

Apart from Cruise’s timeless charm, the sentimental value of this being the last installment is adding to its strong word-of-mouth. Fans want to see the culmination of Ethan Hunt’s blockbuster ride on the big screen, making it a must-see movie event.
