After a strong weekend performance, Kuberaa, starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna, saw an ordinary Monday at the Indian box office, collecting ₹7.25 crore. This brings the film’s four-day domestic gross to ₹60.50 crore, with an additional ₹23 crore (USD 2.675 million) from overseas markets, taking the global total to approximately ₹84 crore.
The film had shown promising growth across its opening weekend, with collections of ₹17 crore on Friday, ₹17.75 crore on Saturday, and ₹18.50 crore on Sunday. However, the significant drop on Monday suggests that Kuberaa may struggle to maintain momentum in the coming days. A stronger Monday hold would have likely sealed its HIT status early on.
Regionally, the Telugu version continues to perform better and is currently carrying the film’s prospects. The Tamil version, in contrast, has underperformed and is now nearly out of the race. If the Tamil audience had responded even moderately well, the film’s success would have been more secure. The trend seen over the weekend did not hold as well as expected, which is a concern for its sustainability.
Here’s the territorial breakdown of the Indian box office performance:
AP/TS: ₹38.25 crore
Nizam: ₹16.75 crore
Ceded: ₹4.75 crore
Andhra: ₹16.75 crore
Tamil Nadu: ₹13.75 crore
