Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajinikanth;s collected ₹26 crore across all languages

Vettaiyan, featuring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, continues to perform impressively at the box office. On its third day, the action-drama collected ₹26 crore across all languages, bringing its total earnings to an estimated ₹81.7 crore. According to a report by Sacnilk, the film saw a 63.81% occupancy in Tamil on its first Saturday, highlighting its strong appeal, especially in South India.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan explores the themes of **encounter killings and corruption in the education sector. The movie marks Amitabh Bachchan’s Tamil debut and features an ensemble cast, including Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati in key roles. The pan-India film has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, catering to a broad audience.

Amitabh Bachchan, though unable to attend the audio launch event in Chennai, sent a heartfelt video message where he praised Rajinikanth’s simplicity and humility, recalling an anecdote from the sets of their 1991 film *Hum*. In his message, Big B expressed his admiration for Rajinikanth, referring to him as the “supreme of all stars” and shared how honored he was to be a part of his Tamil debut film.

The two iconic actors are reuniting after 33 years since their last collaboration in Hum, adding to the excitement around the film. Produced by Subaskaran Allirajah’s Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan* faces stiff competition at the box office from Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, and Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, both of which were released on October 11. Despite this, Vettaiyan continues to hold strong, especially with its compelling story and the star power of its lead actors.
