This week's three new releases include Irrfan Khan's PAAN SINGH TOMAR, the Ali Zafar starrer LONDON PARIS NEW YORK and Rajeev Khandelwal's first foray into mainstream cinema, WILL YOU MARRY ME? As things stand, chances are that the front runners are likely to be PAAN SINGH TOMAR and LONDON PARIS NEW YORK, followed by WILL YOU MARRY ME?. Unfortunately none of three releases are likely to achieve anything significant at the ticket window.
Last Friday saw the releases of the Madhavan-Bipasha starrer, JODI BREAKERS and Ritesh-Genelia's TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA, and as was evident from the first day itself, the latter (TNLHG) dominated the former (JB). As the days progressed the gap became wider and the weekend saw TNLHG netting around 7.50 crores as opposed to JODI BREAKERS 6.25 crore.
It is now obvious that TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA will be the clear winner and a success while JODI BREAKERS will struggle. The opening weekend (24-26 February) picture is quite similar in the overseas, where TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA has grossed ?80,000 in the UK and $95,000 from the US, while JODI BREAKERS has managed ?11,000 from UK and $53,000 from the US.
