This week’s major release is going to be Yash Raj Films’ and Dibakar Banerjee’s DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY! Given the authentic look and feel, the classy promotion as also the reputation of the team, DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY! is sure to appeal to its niche audience.

Last Friday’s two releases, Shadab Mirza directed BARKHAA and Karan Raj Kanwar’s YAHAAN SABKI LAGI HAI, failed to make any impact, whatsoever, at the ticket window and have been rejected.

Netting around 8.50 crore during the opening week, the low budget HUNTERRR (all inclusive 8 crore) will break even, once non-theatrical rights are accounted for.

The other release of the week, Jap Films’ DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND, could not make much of an impact netting a meager 2.25 crore during the opening week and has failed.

Adding another 8 crore the moderately budgeted NH10 has netted 29 crore in two weeks from India and is a semi-hit. The film has also grossed more than $1m from the overseas.

Concluding with Yash Raj Films’ DUM LAGA KE HAISHA, the film saw another productive week as it collected 50 lakhs from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 15 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 2.55 lakhs from Surat, 1.50 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 1.50 lakhs from Rajkot, 8 lakhs from Pune, 45 lakhs from Delhi city, 6.50 lakhs from Noida, 3.75 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 1.55 lakhs from Kanpur, 4 lakhs from Lucknow, 7.50 lakhs from Gurgaon, 1.50 lakhs from Faridabad, 1.75 lakhs from Panipat, 2.50 lakhs from Chandigarh, 1 lakh from Jalandhar, 1 lakh from Ludhiana, 15 lakhs from Calcutta, 1.25 lakhs from Siliguri, 1.50 lakhs from Bhubaneshwar, 1.50 lakhs from Nagpur, 1.75 lakhs from Jabalpur, 2 lakhs from Raipur, 5 lakhs from Indore, 1.50 lakhs from Gwalior, 2 lakhs from Bhopal, 4.75 lakhs from Jaipur, 4.50 lakhs from Hyderabad and 5 lakhs from Bangalore.
