This Friday's prominent release is going to be Balaji Motion Pictures and Pritish Nandy Communications' Vidya-Farhan starrer, SHAADI KE SIDE/EFFECTS. Given the success of the prequel (PYAAR KE SIDE/EFFECTS) and the hype associated with the film due to superb promotion and good music, SHAADI KE SIDE/EFFECTS is expected to embark on a good to decent start, more so in the mid and big cities.
After a slowish first day (4crore), Imtiaz Ali's Randeep-Alia starrer, HIGHWAY, picked up well during the opening weekdays netting 14-15 crore. The film is doing decently during the weekdays, but has to do more than that to be termed a successful film. HIGHWAY has done well (mainly in the US) in the overseas grossing ?108,000 from UK and $327,000 from the US during the opening weekend (21-23 February).
None of the remaining releases of the week, DARR @ THE MALL, KARAR THE DEAL and DEE SATURDAY NIGHT could achieve anything significant. Just for records only DARR @ THE MALL netted around 3 crore during the opening weekend.
