The trailer for Manoj Bajpayee’s much-awaited thriller Despatch just dropped, which gives the audience a mesmerizing preview of this narrative ferocious piece of investigative drama. Bajpayee plays the role of Joy Bag, who is a crime journalist on an investigation for a hazardous set-up that revolves around the 2G spectrum scam in Mumbai.
As Joy digs deeper into the case, he finds himself caught in a web of corruption involving highly placed and powerful individuals. Faced with threats and outside pressure to back down from his investigation, he must steer through the murky waters of media corruption, personal challenges, and dangerous power struggles. The high-stake question remains-would Joy finally be able to expose the dark truths of Mumbai’s criminal underbelly, or will the quest for justice lead to his downfall?
The film has already begun to garner impressive attention through its festival screenings and will take an in-depth look at themes of truth, corruption, and perseverance. The screening of the film Despatch at the MAMI Film Festival 2024 was followed by another screening at the 55th International Film Festival of India, to wide acclaim, for its gripping storytelling and stellar performance by Bajpayee.
