Akshay Kumar is all set to revisit a landmark moment in the history of India with the coming film Kesari: Chapter 2. The historical drama starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan dropped its trailer on Thursday. The taut trailer provides a peek into a courtroom drama that explores the pain and trauma of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and focuses on the struggle for justice.
Akshay Kumar as C. Sankaran Nair
In Kesari: Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar features as C. Sankaran Nair, a fearless lawyer of the time who defies the British Empire following the massacre. The movie will follow Nair’s dogged courtroom fight for justice for the victims of the tragedy. The trailer begins with glimpses of the gruesome happenings of the massacre, followed by the emotionally charged and legal battle that ensues.
The Courtroom Showdown
The trailer also showcases the fierce legal battle between Akshay’s character and R. Madhavan, who portrays Neville Mckinley, the British attorney representing the Crown. The movie is sure to capture the emotional struggle and willpower of those who resisted British tyranny. Sequel to ‘Kesari’
Kesari: Chapter 2 is a follow-up to the 2019 film Kesari, which showed the Battle of Saragarhi in which 21 Sikh soldiers resisted thousands of Pashtun tribesmen. Kesari: Chapter 2 will deal with the consequences of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on April 13, 1919, and will release on April 18 in cinemas.
