Prithviraj Sukumaran has unveiled the much-anticipated trailer for L2: Empuraan, the highly awaited sequel to the 2019 Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer. The film sees superstar Mohanlal returning to his iconic role as Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi Ab’raam, while Prithviraj reprises his role as the resolute Zayed Masood.
The trailer kicks off with a voice-over from PK Ramdas (Sachin Khedekar), who proclaims that his true successors will not be his children, but those who genuinely follow him. This is followed by the introduction of Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas, the son of PK Ramdas, who returns to India from the USA after his father’s death. Jathin is seen leading a political party and addressing a massive rally. Manju Warrier’s Priyadarshini Ramdas also appears, delivering a poignant message about the value of human life over blood relations.

Adding further depth to the story, Aamir Khan’s sister, Nikhat Khan, plays a shrewd politician who cynically refers to politics as a business. The trailer reaches a thrilling moment when Mohanlal’s Khureshi Ab’raam makes a powerful entry, signaling the film’s intense political drama.
The visuals in the trailer span multiple international locations such as Yemen, France, Turkey, and London, before the story returns to the heart of Kerala, where Khureshi is tasked with saving ‘God’s Own Country.’ The star-studded cast also includes Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Eriq Ebouaney, Jerome Flynn, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in pivotal roles. Written by Murali Gopy, L2: Empuraan is jointly produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Sree Gokulam Movies, and Lyca Productions.
