The highly-awaited trailer of Retro, an action-drama starring Suriya and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has finally arrived immediately generating buzz on social media and film fan circles. It is the first collaboration between the Jigarthanda director and the Tamil superstar, making it one of the most raved-about collaborations of the year. With his reputation for genre-bending storylines, Subbaraj seems to infuse a special style on Retro, with the trailer hinting at both stylized action and emotional depth.
Cut and directed by Alphonse Puthren renowned director of cult favorites like Premam and Neram the trailer bristles with crisp, rhythmic life. Puthren’s typical editing touch brings every frame alive, further intensifying Suriya’s blazing avatar. The teaser also includes subtle references to Subbaraj’s earlier movies, a sweet gesture for die-hard fans.
