Alia, herself a TV freak as a kid, has shared her views with her mother Soni Razdan, who had once queried her, “Was I a terrible mom? Alia’s reply was with empathy, conceding that television was something new at the time and being thankful that her mom let her watch it. She said how it encouraged her to dream big and follow her dreams. Even though she is thankful for the influence television had on her when she was growing up, Alia made clear that she is more careful with her daughter, Raha. She has taken a thoughtful choice to restrict Raha’s time in front of the screen, such that she never sees an iPad and is allowed only a fixed period of time interacting with screens for activities like hearing songs.
A Step Towards Privacy
In addition to restricting screen time, Alia Bhatt has also taken a strong step towards keeping her daughter private. Recently, Alia removed all the photos of Raha from her Instagram page, an action that raised a lot of controversy amongst fans. The action was received with a lot of applause because it was Alia’s move to keep her family private and protect Raha from the limelight, particularly at the stage of her life when she was still young. In so doing, Alia has drawn a line between her private and public life by upholding her daughter’s welfare.
