Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani are gearing up for their wedding on July 12. The couple has already celebrated their upcoming nuptials with two grand pre-wedding events. The first was a lavish ceremony in Jamnagar, and the second was an extravagant four-day cruise across Europe, attended by numerous celebrities and close friends.

In addition to these celebrations, the Ambani family demonstrated their commitment to philanthropy by hosting a mass wedding for 50 underprivileged couples. This generous event took place at the Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) in Navi Mumbai, ahead of the traditional mameru ceremony, which is a customary pre-wedding ritual in Gujarati weddings. This act of kindness highlights the family’s dedication to giving back to the community and sharing their joy with those less fortunate.

Radhika Merchant captivated everyone with her elegant and culturally significant attire during her mameru ceremony. Known for her fashion-forward sense, Radhika has showcased her versatile style throughout her pre-wedding celebrations.

For the mameru ceremony, Radhika donned a bespoke lehenga by renowned designer Manish Malhotra. The lehenga, in a vibrant Rani pink hue, was a unique fusion of traditional Bandhani craftsmanship and rich Banarasi brocade. Manish Malhotra shared details of the exquisite outfit on his social media. The lehenga’s skirt, crafted from an impressive 35 meters of Bandhani fabric, featured intricate Gujarati prints. Delicate gold zardozi taar embroidery adorned the ghaghra, adding to its splendor.

A touch of divine inspiration was woven into the lehenga’s borders, which were embroidered with the Durga Maa shloka, adding a spiritual dimension to the ensemble. Manish Malhotra also revealed that Radhika’s choli was inspired by a vintage koti design.

Radhika’s attire seemed inspired by her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Nita Ambani, who recently wore a red silk Banarasi sari embellished with the Gayatri mantra on its pallu.

Complementing her stunning lehenga was a regal set of gold jewelry, passed down from Radhika’s mother, Shaila Merchant. The set, originally worn by Shaila Merchant at her mausalu ceremony (another term for mameru), included a choker, earrings, maang teeka, bangles, and a beautiful hair accessory. Stylist Rhea Kapoor confirmed that these heirloom pieces added a touch of family history and tradition to Radhika’s mameru look.

Radhika Merchant’s mameru ceremony attire perfectly embodied the essence of a modern bride embracing her cultural heritage. The custom-made lehenga, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary silhouette, highlighted her unique style. The heirloom jewelry added a sentimental touch, creating a truly unforgettable look.
