A day after Virat Kohli declared retirement from Test cricket, the legendary cricketer and wife actress Anushka Sharma took a spiritual outing to Vrindavan. The couple had visited spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj’s ashram in search of blessings and advice on Tuesday morning.
Spiritual Reflections and Inner Peace
A recently-viral video from their trip captures the couple sitting in front of Premanand Maharaj, paying close attention to his wisdom about devotion, humility, and enlightenment. At one moment, the guru respectfully asks them, “Prasann ho?” (Are you happy?), and both Virat and Anushka smile and nod eagerly.
Premanand Maharaj underscored the fact that genuine grace from the Lord is not in wealth or popularity but in inner change and peace. Kohli and Anushka both looked deeply touched and respectful during the encounter, which showed their increasing spiritual bent.

This marks Kohli’s third known visit to the spiritual leader, following previous visits in January 2023 and January 2025. Their trip to Vrindavan came shortly after being spotted at Mumbai Airport, from where they flew to Delhi.

Virat Kohli Bids Emotional Farewell to Test Cricket
On Monday, Kohli surprised fans with an emotional note announcing his retirement from Test cricket. Reflecting on a 14-year-long journey, he wrote, “Test cricket has tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I’ll carry for life.” He called playing in whites “deeply personal” and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the experiences and people he encountered through the format.
