Abundantia Entertainment has outlined its plans for 2026 at a time when the Indian entertainment industry is seeing rapid changes in audience preferences and viewing habits across platforms. The studio, founded by Vikram Malhotra, has already started the year with two releases on Amazon Prime Video. These include the series Daldal featuring Bhumi Pednekar and the action drama Subedaar starring Anil Kapoor and directed by Suresh Triveni.
Abundantia Entertainment is working on a mix of web series and films that will be released across platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and in theatres. The idea seems to cater to audiences regardless of how they choose to consume content.
The company is also investing in technology-driven filmmaking through its artificial intelligence division called ‘aiON’. As part of this, it has partnered with InVideo to develop what is being described as India’s first AI-led film studio, with a reported commitment of 10 million dollars. The plan includes producing five AI-based films over the next three years. Another collaboration with Collective Media Network’s Historyverse is underway for Chiranjeevi Hanuman-The Eternal, which is expected to release worldwide later in 2026.
Commenting on the developments, Vikram Malhotra said, “Great stories do more than just find audiences; they build enduring businesses, and that has been our thesis from the outset. Our investment in artificial intelligence through aiON and the partnership with invideo, coupled with a diversified slate across Netflix, Prime Video and theatres, is a direct expression of that belief.
The reception to Daldal and Subedaar establishes the tone for everything that follows this year. Our incredible collaboration with the amazingly versatile Suresh Triveni has already witnessed two fantastic outings in these titles and is set to hit its peak with the forthcoming release of Maa Behen. I am equally excited about new collaborations with terrific creators like Hansal Mehta, Pulkit and Rajesh Mapuskar, who are underway with some stellar work as Abundantia continues to strive to tell differentiated and disruptive stories. I am super excited about every chapter of the journey that 2026 holds”.
Among its upcoming projects, Abundantia is set to debut on Netflix with Maa Behen, directed by Suresh Triveni and starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga and Ravi Kishan. Another project, Family Business, will be directed by Hansal Mehta and feature Anil Kapoor alongside Vijay Varma. On Prime Video, the company is also working on Sundar Poonam, a romantic thriller directed by Pulkit and starring Sanya Malhotra, which is currently in production.
The studio’s current slate and its focus on artificial intelligence-backed filmmaking indicate a broader attempt to expand its content pipeline while adapting to evolving industry trends.
