Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently spoke about his 16 year old daughter Shora and her interest in acting. In a recent interview, he shared that she is passionate about performing but has not watched many of his films. When asked about people online appreciating Shora and whether she plans to join films in the future, Nawazuddin said, “She will complete her studying first, then we will see. She is passionate about acting though.” He made it clear that her education is the priority before any career decisions.
He also spoke about how honest she is with him. “All daughters are straightforward with their fathers. She hasn’t watched many of my films. She might have watched Gangs of Wasseypur discreetly. But, she keeps criticizing me for my dance,” he said.
Talking about her reactions, he added in a light tone, “She asks me not to do it. I am a poor dancer. She has destroyed my confidence. I am low on confidence about dancing now. I will try again. It is not necessary for everything to be perfect, some people just want to have fun,” said Nawazuddin.
In an earlier interview with Film Companion, he had also shared how serious she is about acting. He said, “My daughter is taking training right now. She herself went and got admitted to the performing arts faculty, haath jod ke teacher ke saamne (with folded hands in front of her teacher) she said, ‘I want to learn acting,’”
On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will next be seen in Main Actor Nahin Hoon, directed by Aditya Kripalani. He is also part of Tumbbad 2, which recently started filming. The film is directed by Adesh Prasad and features Sohum Shah returning to his role, while also working as a co producer.
Overall, Nawazuddin’s comments show a simple and honest family dynamic, where his daughter openly shares her opinions while also following her own interest in acting.
