Bollywood legend Akshay Kumar has openly responded to an onslaught of AI-made videos depicting him as Maharishi Valmiki. The actor took to X (previously known as Twitter) and explained that these videos are not real and created with the help of artificial intelligence. “I recently came across some AI-created videos of a movie trailer featuring me playing the character Maharishi Valmiki.”. The actor’s remark brings into focus the increasing worry over deepfakes and AI-fabricated misinformation being disseminated via social media websites. By making his voice heard, Akshay wants his audience to be safe from being misled by false trailers and material.
At the same time, Akshay Kumar is basking in the success of Jolly LLB 3, which was made under Subhash Kapoor. The court-room comedy hit the theatres on September 19 and has a showdown between Akshay and Arshad Warsi with the original cast of the popular franchise reprising the roles. The movie registered a decent opening weekend and raked in more than ₹59 crore in India in four days even as there was a marginal fall on the first Monday.
Critics have praised the film, with News18 Showsha awarding it four stars. The review highlighted Akshay’s charismatic screen presence and comic timing, while commending Arshad Warsi’s effortless wit. Their on-screen chemistry has been particularly appreciated by fans and critics alike.
