In the early hours of Wednesday, May 7, 2025, India carried out Operation Sindoor, a coordinated military strike targeting nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Launched at 1:44 a.m., the operation was a joint effort by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, conducted entirely from Indian territory.
Precision Strikes, Zero Escalation
The Ministry of Defence confirmed the operation aimed to dismantle infrastructure used for plotting attacks on Indian soil, especially in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident. At least 17 terrorists were killed and over 60 injured. Strategic locations hit included Kotli, Ahmadpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Faisalabad. Officials emphasized that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted to avoid escalation.

As news of the operation broke, several Bollywood stars voiced their support. Akshay Kumar posted “Jai Hind. Jai Mahakaal!” on X (formerly Twitter), while Kangana Ranaut hailed the “zero tolerance to terror” stance and shared clips of PM Modi’s speech and the Pahalgam attack.
