Ali Fazal has finally decided to take a break after working continuously for several months. The actor has been busy moving from one project to another, handling films, web series, and even international work without much rest.
The past year has been extremely hectic for him. He completed shooting for Mirzapur The Movie in Mumbai and Banaras and then quickly moved on to finish Lahore 1947. The film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. It also stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Shabana Azmi, and is set during the time of India’s Partition. Ali has described working on this film as an emotional experience unlike anything he has done before.
Along with this, he also wrapped up projects like Raakh and Lust Stories 3 while managing multiple shoots at the same time. Talking about this busy phase, the Fukrey actor told Mid Day News, “It’s been a pretty packed few months with constant travel and long shooting schedules. I realised it was important to take a breather.”
Ali Fazal has worked on a wide range of projects during this period. These include Metro In Dino by Anurag Basu, the Hollywood film Rule Breakers with Phoebe Waller Bridge, Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam, and Mirzapur The Movie.
On the OTT side, he has completed Raakh, a crime thriller directed by Prosit Roy, which also stars Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir.
Speaking about the importance of taking breaks, Ali said, “We underestimate how demanding this profession can be, mentally and physically. I think it’s important that actors take breaks to reflect, reset, and come back sharper.” He also added that taking breaks is not a luxury but a necessity if someone wants a long career. “When I go back on the set next, I want to feel fully present. That’s only possible if I allow myself some semblance of balance.”
Apart from acting, Ali is also working on his production company with his wife Richa Chadha. The couple got married in 2020 and are raising their one year old daughter together.
After such a busy schedule, this break will help him recharge before his upcoming projects release.
