With Yash Raj Films', Arjun Kapoor starrer, ISHAQZAADE, having created history for a newcomer film, it was expected that the same banner and the star's next venture, AURANGZEB, additionally boasting of an even bigger support cast, would at least equal if not surpass the box-office performance of the former. However it was not to be!
While ISHAQZAADE had netted close to 16 crore during the opening weekend, unfortunately AURANGZEB could only manage 12-13 crore. Not only that ISHAQZAADE also held on very well and ended its dream run netting close to 46 crore just from India.
On the other hand, AURANGZEB has not managed to hold steady during the weekdays and the first week is expected to yield just about 17-18 crore (estimated). As per trade experts the film will be lucky to cross 25 crore from India, in the end run, a figure that ISHAQZAADE crossed in the first week itself!
