Darsheel Safary’s Taare Zameen Par audition tape revealed

In this nostalgic clip, a young Darsheel, dressed in his school uniform, is seen in a classroom setting. The camera focuses closely on his face as he gets distracted before being called upon by the teacher. He then quickly opens his notebook as directed. Aamir Khan provides a voiceover, recalling the moment he first saw Darsheel’s audition. “Mujhe yaad hein Darsheel ka maine jab test dekha… jaha Darsheel ka pehla shot aya aur usne dialogue bhi nahi bola tha. Aur mujhe yaad hein uska chehra dekh ke uski aankhein dekh ke maine kaha, ‘Ye bachcha hain! Yeh Ishaan hain.’” (I remember when I saw Darsheel’s test… where Darsheel’s first shot came and he hadn’t even spoken a dialogue. And I remember looking at his face, his eyes, and I said, ‘This is the kid! This is Ishaan’). The video continues with a montage of scenes from the film featuring Darsheel as Ishaan.

“Taare Zameen Par” tells the story of Ishaan, an eight-year-old boy who struggles with dyslexia. Aamir Khan plays his supportive art teacher who helps Ishaan discover his true potential. The film was not only critically acclaimed but also became India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Film category at the 81st Academy Awards.
