Do you know Dilip Kumar was offered a chance to play Cricket for India?

Dilip Kumar, the living legend, has governed the Hindi film industry for over six decades and is considered to be the most 'Complete Actor' and the 'Greatest Star' to have ever hit the Indian screen.

Many consider him to be an institution of acting while there are some who go beyond this and term him as the 'God of acting'. Dilip Kumar turns 91 on 11, December 2013. Celebrating his birthday Glamsham.Com wishes him birthday wishes and prays for his health and a long life. As we carry a weeklong series, presenting you the part 2:

Dilip Kumar's obsession for sports dates back to his hey days when he was 16-years old and used to play cricket for junior Bombay Muslim Team at Mumbai's Wilson College and then at Khalsa College. Though soccer was his most passionate game, he was even adept at cricket and was a medium pace bowler with a short run. He was not a proficient batsman.

Even after making a stint in Bollywood, Dilip Kumar and his buddy Raj Kapoor used to play cricket. The two had their respective team – Dilip Kumar team and a Raj Kapoor team and they used to play among themselves, of course, in private playground to avoid public glare. They also played matches for charitable cause like raising fund for war victims' family or victims of natural disaster.

Recalling an interesting incident Dilip Kumar in an interview revealed that once when he was practicing at Yashwant Club in Indore in the early 50s, he was noticed by eminent cricketer of the 50s C K Naidu, who was so overwhelmed by Dilip Kumar's bowling skills that he immediatelyoffered him to play for Indian team but being established as a star in Bollywood, Dilip Kumar declined the offer.
