It was another disappointing week at the box-office as the three new releases of the week, Y-Films’ MERE DAD KI MARUTI, Subhash Kapoor’s JOLLY L.L.B. and EROS International’s 3G saw a dull to poor start of 15-20 percent (at an all India level).

Thankfully, the feedback for the first two mentioned films, namely the Arshad, Amrita and Boman starrer, JOLLY L.L.B. and the Saqib Saleem and Ram Kapoor starrer, MERE DAD KI MARUTI is mixed but tending towards positive. Even the third film, the Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan starrer, 3G, has its share of admirers amongst the Gen-X. And so there are still chances of a turnaround during the weekend for all the three releases, especially the first two.
Meanwhile last Friday’s Tigmanshu Dhulia directed SAHEB, BIWI AUR GANGSTER RETURNS has maintained well and has netted 17-18 crore (to be validated) and will surely end up as an average plus fare.

The other release of the week, SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA…, was not so lucky, and despite good content and topical theme, the audience did not check it out due to the lack of face value.
From the older releases, both Ram Gopal Varma’s THE ATTACKS OF 26/11 and John Abraham’s I, ME AUR MAIN, have failed at the box office.
